WATCH: SRH owner Kavya Maran praises Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for his knock
  • Kavya Maran praised Vaibhav after RR’s Eliminator victory.
  • Vaibhav smashed 97 runs off just 29 balls.
  • Kavya’s post-match interaction went viral online.

While many on social media trolled Kavya Maran for her emotional reaction during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s crushing Eliminator loss to Rajasthan Royals, the team’s owner congratulated the teenager responsible for most of the damage.

Following his stunning innings at Mullanpur, Kavya was spotted shaking hands and having a lengthy conversation with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi just after the game. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a young player for the Rajasthan Royals, became the talk of the IPL 2026 when his incredible Eliminator innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad propelled RR into Qualifier 2.

In order to maintain their title ambitions, Rajasthan Royals overcame SRH by 47 runs thanks to Sooryavanshi’s incredible 97 off just 29 balls. Hyderabad’s bowling attack was totally destroyed by the young player’s courageous hitting, leaving social media in shock all night long.

Pat Cummins runs out of plans against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Kavya and Sooryavanshi’s post-match exchange went viral on social media, particularly since the SRH owner’s passionate outbursts during the game had already gained significant attention.  As Hyderabad’s effort gradually collapsed throughout the big 244-run chase, the SRH owner had to undergo a challenging evening in the stands.

Sunrisers Hyderabad appeared to be a bowling assault, at a loss for ideas against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for much of the evening.  Pat Cummins continued to shift fielders, pausing frequently to speak with his senior teammates and experimenting with various strategies against the adolescent. Yorkers at the stumps came first, followed by stinging bouncers into the body. Wider lines outside off, cutters, and slower balls came next.

Kavya Maran’s reactions go viral during SRH loss

While Vaibhav lit up Mullanpur, there was also a lot of internet discussion over Kavya Maran’s reactions from the stands. As Hyderabad’s bowling attack faltered and wickets subsequently fell during the chase, cameras continually caught the SRH owner becoming more and more upset.

After a blazing opening spell from Jofra Archer, Hyderabad collapsed to 57 for 4 in five overs while chasing 244, therefore eliminating SRH from the match. Kavya could only watch helplessly as Hyderabad’s IPL 2026 journey came to an end, as the match had nearly completely slipped away from SRH during the second half of the chase.

Following the loss, some supporters trolled Kavya Maran on social media, bringing back memories of SRH’s previous celebrations following their league-stage victory over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. Despite the sadness, many fans praised Kavya’s post-match gesture for Sooryavanshi on social media, praising the SRH owner’s sportsmanship.
